Employment
1983-present: Directs the project
management office that handles over 10,000 projects (printed,
audiovisual, information technology, Web sites, events, and worldwide
satellite broadcasts) per year in up to 185 languages. Coordinates
planning, approvals, prioritization, writing, creation, translation,
production, printing, and international distribution in 105 offices
worldwide. Develops and implements computer-assisted project
management systems. Realigned printing worldwide, saving millions of
dollars and increasing quality.
2004 to present: Directed the integration
of processes for planning, producing, and implementing products and
services (printed, audiovisual, Internet, IT systems, events) across
seven departments (Audiovisual, Correlation, Curriculum, Information
and Communications Systems, Materials Management [printing and
distribution], Physical Facilities [events], and Translation.
Product manager for
LDS.org and other Church Web properties (hundreds of domain names;
tens of thousands of pages; over a million unique visitors each month
with 5 million visits
and 50 million page views per month. Establishes roles, processes,
standards, and
governance for the development and maintenance of a suite of corporate
Web sites and services. Provides content synergy for dozens of Church

properties in 2003-2005, including implementing XML, metadata
standards, common taxonomy, a content management system, portal server
technology, and new search tools.
 | Project Management Coach 1986 to present |
Coaches vice-presidents and managers of
various companies on
leadership principles and project management. Teaches project management
skills one-on-one and in classroom settings to hundreds of corporate
employees. Trained as an instructor for the American Management
Association.
Publishes books, pamphlets, and educational games.
Language Skills and Foreign Experience
 | Speaks English, Spanish, Cakchiquel [Guatemala], and Esperanto. |
 | Lived in El Salvador and Guatemala as a missionary for two years
(1974-76), then returned to translate and record materials into Cakchiquel
in the summer of 1977 and to compile the first modern
English-Spanish-Cakchiquel dictionary in the summer of 1978. |
